Baked BBQ Salmon (Easy 2 Ingredient Recipe)

Easy BBQ Salmon

This is one of my kids favorite recipes – we have it at least once a week! I love it too, first because it is delicious, and second, because it’s quick and easy with minimal clean up!

Fresh salmon is coated in tangy BBQ sauce, baked until fork tender, then broiled until the barbecue sauce is perfectly caramelized. Every bite is packed with flavor, and this versatile dish pairs with just about any kind of side dish!

Why You'll Love This Recipe:

  1. Easy recipe with just 2 main ingredients
  2. Ready in about 30 minutes
  3. Clean up is a breeze!

Baked BBQ Salmon (Easy 2 Ingredient Recipe)

Ingredients

  1. Salmon – Any cut of salmon should work here because you’re going to portion it into 1-2 bite pieces.
  2. Barbecue Sauce – You can use homemade barbecue sauce or store-bought. We love Kinder’s Gold BBQ Sauce, but feel free to use your favorite!

Optional:

  1. Oil (olive oil or avocado oil works well)
  2. Salt & Pepper

Helpful kitchen tools

  1. Medium Mixing Bowl
  2. Large Baking Sheet
  3. Aluminum foil

Instructions

To Prep: Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with foil.

  1. Cut salmon into 1-2 inch pieces. Brush the front and backs with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Add the salmon to a medium bowl with 1 – 1 1/2 cups of barbecue sauce and toss until coated.
  2. Place the salmon pieces on prepared pan, without overlapping, and bake at 400°F for 20 minutes.
  3. Remove pan from oven and drizzle the salmon with a little more sauce.
  4. Broil 1-3 minutes, watching carefully to make sure it doesn’t scorch. Remove from oven.

Prep Tips

  1. Salmon – You can use any kind of salmon you like for this recipe. The sauce and preparation makes it a great way to use cheaper cuts of salmon. Because you’re going to cut it up and coat in barbecue sauce, you don’t need expensive fillets.
  2. Serve with – This is a versatile dish and pairs well with almost anything! My kids love it with a side of mac-and-cheese and a veggie such as broccoli or green beans. It also pairs perfectly with roasted potatoes, rice, or corn. But of course those are just suggestions!
