Cinnamon Rolls with Candied Bacon & Maple Glaze
Fall is my favorite season! Thanksgiving, my birthday, my wedding anniversary — there are so many reasons to celebrate and be grateful.
Our family traditions include classic recipes that we enjoy together every year. For me, very few things bring to mind Thanksgiving and family like my Granny’s famous cinnamon rolls. However, Granny's cinnamon rolls are made from scratch, so they are a bit time-consuming and not exactly the easiest recipe for a beginner (aka ME) to attempt.
Well, my husband (the chef in the family) came up with the next best thing: Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls. Not only are they delicious, but these bacon cinnamon rolls and maple glaze are so EASY that anyone can make them…myself included

Picture this: ooey-goey Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, bacon that's literally been turned into candy, and a luscious maple frosting = something that is almost too amazing for words! So I'll let the pictures do the talking:
The best part? This recipe is SO easy that even a novice can handle it, and your guests will think that you’ve been slaving away at the oven all day.

Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls Ingredients
- 1 can Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls
- 8 strips of bacon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon maple syrup
Kitchen Tools Used:
- 8″ round pan
- Silicone basting brush
How to Make Bacon Cinnamon Rolls
TIP: We used the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Butter Cream Icing, but there are quite a few different flavor options that would work well.
Preheat your oven to 375°F or the temperature recommended on the cinnamon roll directions. Place strips of bacon on a foil-lined baking sheet, making sure they are not overlapping too much. Bake for 15 minutes.
Remove bacon pan from oven, coat bacon with a mixture of 2 Tablespoons brown sugar and 1/4 cup maple syrup.
TIP: A silicone basting brush makes this step a breeze and is one of our favorite kitchen tools!
Return bacon to oven and cook for 15 additional minutes, until crispy and caramelized. Oven times may vary, keep an eye on the bacon and remove when it starts to turn a rich brown.

When the bacon has finished cooking, remove from oven and set aside to cool in pan. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.
Once bacon is cool enough to handle, chop into small pieces. Unroll each cinnamon roll, place a few pieces of bacon along the inside (spaced about an inch apart) and roll them back up.
Make sure to set aside half of the chopped bacon for topping the maple cinnamon rolls!
Place cinnamon rolls inside a greased 8″ round cake pan and bake according to directions on package.
How to Make Maple Frosting for Cinnamon Rolls:
We made this simple maple frosting for our cinnamon rolls by whisking together the frosting that comes in the cinnamon rolls package with 1 tablespoon maple syrup.
Easy as that!
If you want maple cream cheese frosting cinnamon rolls, you can also add a tablespoon of softened cream cheese while whisking.

To Finish Your Bacon Cinnamon Rolls:
When the cinnamon rolls are done baking, remove them from the oven. While still in the pan, spread the maple glaze over top of your bacon cinnamon rolls, then sprinkle the remaining chopped bacon on top.
