Series C is one of those product lines where the spec data exists but nobody has ever put it in one place. You end up with fifteen browser tabs of retailer listings, half of them disagreeing, trying to work out whether a 72W desk is actually 72 inches wide.
It is not. It is 71.13 inches. That kind of thing is exactly why this guide exists.
Read this before you use any number here

Honest sourcing note. bushbusinessfurniture.com is currently sitting entirely behind a password wall, so no manufacturer page could be read while compiling this. Every dimension below comes from dealer and wholesale pages that reproduce Bush's own spec sheet fields, plus manufacturer-published BIM data.
They are reliable enough to plan with, but they are transcribed, not first-party. Where sources conflict we give both numbers rather than picking one. Measure your space with a margin and confirm with the seller before ordering anything heavy.
What Series C actually is
- Construction: 100% thermally fused laminate over an engineered wood core, with a 1 inch worksurface and PVC protective edge banding
- Core material is genuinely disputed across sources. Bush's own spec field says engineered wood, while various dealers describe it as particleboard, melamine pressboard or MDF. Do not take any single one as fact
- Meets or exceeds ANSI/BIFMA standards. Office Depot files it under a 10 Year Limited warranty
- 50% total recycled content, stated as 45% pre-consumer and 5% post-consumer
- Integrated wire management grommets in the worksurface and legs, plus adjustable levelers for uneven floors
- Finishes seen in current listings: Natural Cherry, Hansen Cherry, Mocha Cherry, Mahogany, Auburn Maple and Light Oak, all with Graphite Gray accents on the cherries
The SKU decoder, which will save you an hour
The finish is baked into the SKU, so the same physical piece has a different number in each colour.
| Finish | SKU prefix | Example |
| Natural Cherry | WC72xxx | WC72436, 72W desk shell |
| Hansen Cherry | WC24xxx | WC24436, 72W desk shell |
| Mocha Cherry | WC129xx | WC12936, 72W desk shell |
| Mahogany | WC36xxx | WC36742, 66W desk shell |
| Auburn Maple | WC48xxx | WC48536, 72W desk shell |
Careful though: the item code portion is not perfectly consistent across finishes. The Natural Cherry 48W return bridge is WC72424 while the Auburn Maple one is WC48524, a different middle digit. Check the specific SKU rather than extrapolating.
The same furniture under three other names
Retailers rename the collection, which splits your search results. All of these are the same Series C SKUs:
- Series C Components, or just Components Collection, at Office Depot, Walmart and ODP Business
- Westfield at Quill and Staples
- Corsa Series at Cymax
Desk shells
| Piece | Width | Depth | Height | Weight |
| 72W Desk Shell | 71.13 | 29.38 | 29.88 | 136 lb |
| 66W Desk Shell | 66 | 29.38 | 29.88 | 128 lb |
| 72W Bow Front Desk Shell | 71.13 | 36.13 | 29.88 | 142 lb |
| 48W x 30D Desk Shell | 47.7 | 29.4 | 29.9 | not listed |
The width inconsistency is real. The 72W shell measures 71.13 inches, but the 66W shell is exactly 66. If you are butting a desk into an alcove, that 0.87 inch matters.
Two conflicts to know about. The bow front is listed as 71.13 x 36.13 x 29.88 by one dealer and 72 x 36.06 x 30 by another. And the 48W shell may actually belong to Series C Elite rather than classic Series C, since one retailer URL for it contains Elite. There is no 60W desk shell in classic Series C at all, that width is an Elite piece.
Corner modules and L-bow desks
| Piece | Width | Depth | Height | Weight |
| 72W Right-Hand Corner Module | 71.13 | 35.5 | 29.88 | 135 lb |
| 72W Left-Hand Corner Module | 71.13 | 35.5 | 29.88 | not listed |
| 60W x 43D Left L-Bow Desk Shell | 60 | 43 | not listed | not listed |
Watch out for carton dimensions. One dealer lists the corner module's item dimensions as 78.40 x 39.30 x 3.90. That is the shipping box, not the furniture. The product figures are in the table above.
Left and right L-bow SKU mapping is inconsistent between dealers, with the same SKU labelled left on one site and right on another. Confirm handedness with the seller before ordering.
Credenzas, returns and bridges
| Piece | Width | Depth | Height | Note |
| 72W Credenza Shell | 71.13 | 23.38 | 29.88 | 115 lb |
| 60W Credenza | 59.4 | 23.3 | not published | |
| 48W Return Bridge | 47.75 | 23.38 | 29.78 | not freestanding |
| 36W Return Bridge | not published |
Important planning constraint, in Bush's own words: the 48W return bridge can attach to a 72W bow front desk shell, a 72W or 66W desk shell, or a credenza, on the left or right. And: this unit cannot be used alone. It has no legs of its own, so it only exists as part of a configuration.
Hutches
| Piece | Width | Depth | Height | Cartons |
| 72W 4-Door Hutch | 71.13 | 15.38 | 43.13 | 2 boxes |
| 72W 2-Door Hutch | 71.13 | 15.38 | 43.13 | 2 boxes |
| 60W 4-Door Hutch | 58.875 | 15.375 | 43 | 1 |
The 72W hutches ship in two separate cartons, labelled A1 and A2, each around 128 lb. Both must be ordered. Ordering only one is a common and expensive mistake, because the SKUs look almost identical.
Desk plus hutch total height works out to roughly 73 inches. Check that against any low ceiling, soffit or window sill before you commit.
What each hutch mounts on
- 72W 4-door hutch: a 72W desk shell, 72W credenza shell, a right or left corner module, two 36W lateral files side by side, or one lateral file next to the deep end of a corner module
- 60W 4-door hutch: a 60W credenza shell, a 36W lateral file, or the end of a return bridge or credenza
Bookcases
| Piece | Width | Depth | Height | Shelf limit |
| 36W 5-Shelf Bookcase | 35.63 or 35.75 | 15.38 | 72.78 | 50 lb per shelf |
| 18W 5-Shelf Bookcase | 17.88 | 15.38 | 72.78 | 50 lb per shelf |
Both are 3 adjustable plus 2 fixed shelves. The 36W width is quoted as 35.63 by wholesale listings and 35.75 by another dealer, unresolved.
If you are searching for a 2-shelf or 4-shelf Series C bookcase, it does not exist. Series C only makes 5-shelf units in 18W and 36W. The 2-shelf and 4-shelf Bush bookcases that come up in search belong to the Bush Furniture Universal line, which is a different, more residential family.
Files, pedestals and storage
| Piece | Width | Depth | Height | Weight |
| 36W 2-Drawer Lateral File | 35.67 or 35.75 | 23.35 or 23.38 | 29.84 or 29.88 | 118 lb |
| 3-Drawer Mobile Pedestal | 15.75 | 20.25 | 27.88 | 66 lb |
| 30W Storage Cabinet | 29.5 | 23.38 | 29.78 | 97 lb |
The lateral file takes letter, legal and A4, runs on full-extension ball bearing slides, and has interlocking drawers to prevent tipping. It ships in one box, 31.30 x 6.80 x 42.00.
The mobile pedestal is box, box, file, takes legal, letter, A4 and A5, comes with one lock and two keys on the file drawer, and rolls on casters. It is reversible, listed as left or right. At 27.88 inches tall it clears a 29.88 inch worksurface.
The storage cabinet has 2 shelves rated 50 lb each and a lock.
Two more pieces that do not exist in Series C
- There is no 3-drawer lateral file. Only the 36W 2-drawer. What gets called a three drawer file is the mobile pedestal, which is a different thing entirely
- There is no tall storage cabinet. The Series C cabinet is desk height at 29.78 inches. Tall Bush cabinets come from other lines
- No Series C peninsula desk was found in any source
Standard heights at a glance
| Surface | Height (inches) |
| Desk worksurface, classic Series C | 29.88 |
| Desk worksurface, Series C Elite | 30 |
| Credenza | 29.88 |
| Return bridge | 29.78 |
| Storage cabinet | 29.78 |
| 2-drawer lateral file | 29.84 to 29.88 |
| 3-drawer mobile pedestal | 27.88 |
| 72W hutch | 43.13 |
| 60W hutch | 43 |
| Bookcase | 72.78 |
Series C legs are not height adjustable. It has adjustable levelers, which only compensate for an uneven floor. If you need a sit-stand worksurface, Bush's Move 60, Move 80 and 400 Series are the lines to look at, not Series C.
There is no integrated keyboard tray either. Bush sells a universal accessory, the AC99801-03 articulating keyboard shelf, at 24.63W x 19.5D x 3.63H with a 17 inch glide track and 5.3 inches of height adjustment. Oddly, that accessory carries a limited lifetime warranty while the furniture itself is 10 years.
No knee-space or under-desk clearance figure is published anywhere for Series C.
Weight capacities
| Item | Capacity | Source quality |
| Desk surface | 200 lb | Retailer-stated, not a Bush page |
| Bookcase shelf | 50 lb per shelf | Bush spec field |
| Storage cabinet shelf | 50 lb per shelf | Bush spec field |
| File drawer | Not published anywhere | Gap |
Bush's own spec fields on the desk shells read weight capacity: not specified. The 200 lb figure comes from Wayfair, so treat it as a guide rather than a rating.
Series C vs Series A: the actual difference
There is no Bush comparison document, so this is assembled from matched spec sheets for equivalent pieces.
| Series C | Series A | |
| 72W desk, actual size | 71.13 x 29.38 x 29.88 | 71.63 x 26.88 x 29.88 |
| Worksurface depth | 29.38 in | 26.88 in, 2.5 in shallower |
| Weight, 72W desk | 136 lb | 102 lb |
| Base design | Full end panels | C-leg table design |
| Material spec wording | TFL over engineered wood, 1 in top | Identical wording |
| Warranty | 10 years | 10 years, the same |
| ANSI/BIFMA | Meets or exceeds | Meets or exceeds |
| Finishes observed | Six, all wood tones | Hansen Cherry/Galaxy, Slate/White |
| Range of pieces | Full modular system | Desks, hutch, up to four pedestals |
The honest summary: published construction, warranty and standards compliance are identical. The real differences are depth, base design, mass, finish range, and how many configuration pieces exist. Series A is the shallower, lighter, narrower-range line. Series C is the deeper, heavier, fully modular one.
No source documents a material thickness difference, both state a 1 inch top. And we could not verify a price tier difference, so treat any claim that one is the premium line with scepticism.
Series C Elite: a real, separate line
| Series C classic | Series C Elite | |
| Worksurface depth | 29.38 in | 30 in |
| Height | 29.88 in | 30 in |
| Desk shell widths | 66W, 72W | 48W, 60W, 66W, 72W |
| Finishes | Six observed | Four per Wayfair |
| Warranty | 10 years | 10-year limited |
| Bundle SKU prefix | SRC | SRE |
Elite is not a different construction, it is the same platform on 30 inch deep tops rather than 29.38, with widths classic Series C does not offer. One Elite listing describes a plywood or laminate board base and a finish on all sides, but that wording comes from a retailer and is unverified.
Mixing the two lines is a mistake. A 0.62 inch depth difference at a joint will show as a visible step. Stay within one line for a connected configuration.
Warranty, and a dealer error to watch for

Bush's commercial warranty, which covers Series C, Series C Elite and Series A, runs to the original purchaser for ten years. Bush will replace any part described on the furniture parts list that is defective in material or workmanship.
Exclusions are improper assembly, modifications, intentional damage, misuse, accident, negligence, and labour or assembly costs. Note that a separate five year commercial tier also exists, so not every Bush Business Furniture item is ten years.
Here is the thing to watch: at least two dealers advertise Series C as carrying a lifetime warranty. That contradicts Bush's own ten year commercial term and is almost certainly a conflation with the residential Bush brand, which does offer lifetime on defects. If a seller promises lifetime on Series C, get it in writing, because Bush's own documentation says ten years.
Assembly
- Flat pack. Every component page reads this item requires assembly
- 72W hutches arrive in two cartons of roughly 128 lb each, both needed
- Some storage pieces ship assembled. Lateral file and mobile pedestal SKUs ending in ASU, SU or A are the assembled versions. Desks are not
- Professional assembly is offered by dealers, not by Bush. Bush's warranty specifically excludes labour and assembly costs
- Bush publishes no assembly time estimate for any piece, so ignore any figure you see quoted
One practical reviewer note on the 60W hutch: it is heavy enough that it should be assembled very close to where it will finally sit.
Reversible vs handed: the planning trap
Some pieces serve either hand from one SKU. Others do not, and getting it wrong means returning a 135 lb box.
| Reversible, one SKU | Handed, separate SKUs |
| 3-drawer mobile pedestal, listed left/right | Corner modules, distinct LH and RH SKUs |
| 48W return bridge, attaches left or right | L-bow desks, distinct left and right |
| Series C Elite desk shell, left or right return | Pre-configured L-shape bundles |
This is the single most useful warning in this guide. The bridge and the pedestal give you flexibility. The corner module and the L-bow desk lock in handedness at the moment you order.
Compatibility between lines
Bush publishes no cross-collection compatibility chart. What is documented is compatibility within Series C, as listed in the hutch section above.
Series A desks state compatibility only with the Series A collection. No source says a Series C hutch fits a Series A desk, and the dimensions say it will not: a Series A 72W desk is 71.63 wide and 26.88 deep, while Series C is 71.13 wide and 29.38 deep. Different width and different depth, so a hutch from one will not sit correctly on the other.
The one confirmed cross-line component is the keyboard tray accessory AC99801-03, which explicitly lists both Series A and Series C among the collections it fits.
Is Series C being discontinued?
Possibly, and it is worth knowing before you build a whole office around it.
- bushbusinessfurniture.com's current collection navigation lists Arrive, Assemble, Assure, Envision, Hustle, Stratus, Studio C, Synergy and Vista. Neither Series C nor Series A appears
- Series C product URLs still work and still show in search, but the line is not being promoted
- One SKU, the WC72426 Natural Cherry 72W credenza shell, is explicitly listed as discontinued as of 6 January 2024
- Out of stock notices are widespread across dealers, and outlet listings for Series C exist
- Auburn Maple and Light Oak look like legacy finishes. Neither appears in current Elite finish lists
No manufacturer end-of-life notice is obtainable, so this is inference from availability rather than fact. But if you are planning to expand a Series C setup over the next few years, buy the pieces you will need now rather than assuming they will still be there.
Gaps in the published data

For transparency, here is what nobody publishes. If you need any of these, ask the seller directly.
- Overall footprint for any U-shaped Series C configuration
- Dimensions for the 36W return bridge, 30W hutch, reception L-hutch, 2-drawer pedestal, and the 60W credenza height
- File drawer weight capacity
- Knee-space and under-desk clearance
- Assembly time for any piece
- Elite dimensions for the 66W and 72W shells, the bow fronts, and all L and U configurations
- Series C launch date and formal discontinuation status
FAQ
Is a Bush Series C 72W desk really 72 inches?
No. It is 71.13 inches wide. The 66W shell, oddly, is exactly 66 inches. Plan with the real numbers.
What is the difference between Series A and Series C?
Depth is the main one. Series C worksurfaces are 29.38 inches deep, Series A are 26.88, so Series C is 2.5 inches deeper. Series C also uses full end panels where Series A uses C-legs, weighs about a third more, and offers many more configuration pieces. Construction spec and warranty are identical.
Can I put a Series C hutch on a Series A desk?
The dimensions say no. The widths differ by half an inch and the depths by 2.5 inches. Bush states no cross-line compatibility, and nothing in either spec sheet suggests it works.
Is Series C height adjustable?
No. It has adjustable levelers for uneven floors only. For sit-stand, look at Bush's Move 60, Move 80 or 400 Series.
What is the Series C warranty?
Ten years, per Bush's commercial warranty for the Bush Business Furniture brand. Some dealers advertise lifetime, which contradicts Bush's own terms and should be verified in writing before you rely on it.
Does Series C come in a 4-shelf bookcase?
No. Series C only makes 5-shelf bookcases, 18W and 36W. The 2-shelf and 4-shelf Bush bookcases belong to the Universal line.
Bottom line
Series C is a genuinely deep modular system, 29.38 inch worksurfaces, panel ends, ANSI/BIFMA compliant, ten year warranty. It plans well once you know three things: widths are usually just under the nominal number, the corner modules and L-bow desks are handed and cannot be flipped, and the 72W hutch needs two cartons ordered.
The bigger consideration is availability. The line has vanished from Bush's own navigation, one SKU is formally discontinued, and stock is patchy. If you want a full Series C office, source the whole configuration at once rather than in stages.
